Innocence

My family is a very important part of my life, they will always be there for you through it all. Here's a few shots of my niece's Anya (top) and Vera (bottom). Shot with a Nikon D5000.

Saint Rose of Lima, Rochester, MA

I enjoy shooting statues that have interesting positions. This Statue (B&W at bottom) is no more than 3 feet tall, and this angle makes the viewer think that it could be a life like statue. I didn't really notice how much the angle changed this shot until I opened it up on my macbook. I made it black and white because I wanted the viewer to focus on the angle of the shot.

The shots of the flowers with the statue behind are a couple of my favorites from this shoot. I usually do not use my flash to prevent distortion of the subject matter, which I think ruins the shot. But the I used the flash for about 20 different shots on the flower to get the veins of the flower to show in the image.

The photograph of the sign at the very top is another thing I like to do. I really like to angle my shots because sometimes you can distort the image in a good way. Angle can elongate or widen most inadament objects. This was a super fun shoot in which I took over 200 shots.

Elements of Contrast

This photo is from a shoot I did at the Rochester Congregational Church. I took both my Cannon AE-1 35 mm & my Nikon D5000 dslr. I used a color filter for this shot so I could get the deep pop of the flower that you see. The contrast in this photo is what makes it. Again you can see hints of my love for depth of field. Color filters can always be fun to play around with on shoots. Thanks for checking it out, Cheers!

Cruisin' Newport

These are a few select shot's from a trip I took to Newport, RI earlier this summer, Shot with my Nikon D5000. The more I shoot the more I utilize depth of field into my work. This was just a spur of the moment trip, not intending to shoot anything, I just took some quick shots to document the trip.

Here are a few pictures from my Cereal Box project in 2 dimensional design. Based of a the Hokusai wave I constructed a functional cereal box from bristol board. I reinforced it with cardboard on the insides applying the cardboard with spray adhesive. Painted with Black and White Acrylics, this was one of my most time consuming projects. Enjoy

Hey people, it's been a while since I have posted anything so I though I would put a few drawings from my portfolio up. The figure drawing at the top was done in pencil and it is of a female nude model from my drawing II class. The bottom is a recreation of a master drawing original done in a different medium than mine. Mine is done in ink and I tried to focus on cross hatching and little scratchy marks to make this piece. Although it is not my best piece it is certainly one of my favorites. Sorry for the poor image quality but they were just some quick snapshots. Thanks for checking them out, cheers.

This piece is a functional work. I started with a blank skateboard deck with just a finish on it, sanded it down so all of the finish was completely off. After that I applied three coats of Gesso ( a thick white paste like medium). I then proceeded to lay down my graphic with graphite artist pencils, and then sealed it in with a coat of watered down white acrylic paint. The last part was taking white, black and grey acrylics and applying them to my skateboard. This is a depiction of the Empire State building, and a street sign in front painted black so it will pop to the viewers eye. The lines that you see are all 1/32 in. The overall taping of my board to get straight lines took over 2 1/2 hrs. Finally I used Krylon clear spray to give this a glossy finish.

These are my cereal box covers for 2 Dimensional Design. They are acrylic painted rough drafts of the covers. I am tweaking the Logo's and name brand of the cereal.

Targeted for 5-15 year olds I wanted to make this piece cartoon based. I never have really touched on drawing a cartoon like figure and for the first attempt I am pleased with

the product. Check for updates on this project coming soon. I have constructed an actual, functioning cereal box with Bristol board, re-enforced with cardboard.

This is what I am currently shooting with for my 35 mm Black&White photography. I use a Canon AE-1 series 35 mm camera, with a stf lens. I also use a 100-300 mm telephoto lens and a Canon 188A external flash. Just wanted to give an update on what I have been using for my B&W's. I have been excelling in my 35 mm work and finding new possibilities each day, varying from developing methods, masking and many other tricks of the trade. Look out for new updates!

Drawing II & 2D Design

This First piece is from an assignment in Drawing II. We had to interpret water in any way that we wanted to or could think of so I chose to fuse together some objects that I associate with water. i.e. The rubber duck, sink, and I also chose to put water dropping from the faucet causing a splash at the surface

This piece was part of a line project for 2D design. I chose to do an action figure that was a current version of Commander Steel from the late 60's. As you can see I thought this was a great example of line because of all the cuts in the body of the action figure.

Drawing II

These three drawings are from my figure drawing class. Didn't spend that much time on any of them. The Two on top are toned paper with charcoal and they are eraser based drawings with some charcoal added to pop the image. The bottom is also toned paper with Charcoal, but is more of a mash-up of body parts all surrounding the main subject figure in the middle. This bottom drawing was just a fun concept not a graded assignment and was based off of a series of gesture drawings.

Second Semester Art Work

Heath Ledger 2D Graphite Project

These two pieces are some of my favorite works up to this point in time. I took my time on the pixelation and although it came out, well.. let's say different then I had anticipated, I enjoy the final product. When the pixelation is given the appropriate distance it is intended to have, the piece looks good. it is made up of 256 1/2 in. squares. The one on the top is the three tone part of the project. I used black, middle grey, and white to do this part of the project. All of this was done with graphite pencil's. Overall I probably spent well over 6 hours of total work time between these two pieces.

LAtely

This is what my life has consisted of lately. My graphite drawing pencils, Solo beats headphones by Monster and some Bristol Board. All for a purpose.

Chaos All around

Have not been able to post any new shit lately because I have been super busy people. 2D design class on top of drawing after drawing, as well as work with my Black & White 35mm Camera. All this work while still trying to hold my head above water and keep new inspirations coming in for my design's and artwork. One foot forward and working on the rest as it comes, let's get dirty.

Heath Ledger in The Imaginarium of Dr.Parnassus.

This movie was great and I recommend it to anyone who has an open mind. The Story line was incredible and completely original. Filmed from a different perspective than most other films I have seen. So go see it!
